Guests arrive
Welcome drinks on the lawn of The Pala.
The ceremony
Vows on The Pala’s clifftop lawn, high above the Indian Ocean. An Australian ceremony that flows into a traditional Muslim nikah, something most of our guests will never have seen. It is conducted in Indonesian, with a translator guiding you through every step.
Sunset cocktails
Drinks and canapés in the gardens of Villa Rose as the sun goes down over the water. If you are in the group photos we will steal you first, then you can join everyone for cocktails and canapés.
The reception
Dinner and speeches at Villa Markisa, the newest villa on the estate. The lawn stays cordoned off until the big reveal, so everyone sees it for the first time together. No peeking. Rather than a sit-down three course meal, dinner is a blended Indonesian and Western buffet: something familiar for those set in their ways, and both cuisines to dabble in, to your heart’s content, for the adventurous.
A surprise performance
The bride is keeping this one secret. You will know it when you see it.
Dancing under the stars
On Markisa’s lawn until we cannot dance any more. We paid for the dance floor, so use it.

Dress code
Tropical formal. Light suits and summer dresses. There is a lot of lawn across all the villas, so consider your heels.

Flights
Jetstar flies direct to Bali from Adelaide and Melbourne. Tickets open exactly one year before the flight date, which is why this invitation is with you early: when the seats open, get in fast. We chose the date so everyone could make it, and we are sorry it falls in the holiday period. It was the only window that got us all there together.
First time in Bali?
If this is your first trip to the island, reach out. We are happy to help with airports, getting around, and any questions about Bali. We want the trip to be smooth and the stay to be a pleasure for everyone.
Weather
July is Bali’s dry season and its best weather: mostly sunny days around 28–31°C, easy 22–24°C evenings, low humidity, little rain and a coastal breeze.
5–11 July 2026, the same week a year before — for guidance. The odd shower passes quickly.
A note about children
The venue has a hard cap of one hundred people and children count towards it, so we have reluctantly made this a child-free event. We know that may be a nuisance for some, and we are sorry; we had to work with what we have. A few children will be there as part of the ceremony and direct family. Thank you for understanding.
If you travel with your kids and need a sitter during the events, reach out. Bintang has friends on the island who are respected nannies and would be happy to help. And if you leave them at home, enjoy the break.

This is the estate’s own plan. We have taken the whole clifftop: 4 The Pala and its North Wing, 5 Villa Rose and 6 Villa Markisa, with their lawns and gardens opening into one another. Whichever room you book, all of it is yours for the weekend: every pool, in-villa massage and the spa, the gym, the tennis and squash courts at the sport centre (2), and the steps down to Pandawa Beach.

Having you fly to Bali to celebrate with us truly is the greatest gift. If you would like to give something more, a contribution to our honeymoon would mean the world, and we will happily share the photos with you.
One more thing worth knowing. In Muslim tradition there is a moment after the ceremony where guests dance and bless the couple with small notes of money. If you would like to be part of it, keep a little cash handy on the day. It does not need to be much, joining in is what counts.

If a place opens
The Waiting List
The estate holds one hundred of us and not a soul more, so we could not fit everyone we love on the day, and we are sorry for that. But plans change. If a place opens up we will offer it straight down this list, in order. Too many times we have heard “if I had known there was a spot, I would have come.” Now you will know. Add your name and the place is yours to claim when it comes.
